About SGBS
SGBS (Sree Guruvayurappan Bhajan Samaj Trust) was formed in 1978 by individuals who wanted to make a difference in society by enabling people to lead a better quality life. SGBS initiated the following programs to realize its objectives
- Utsav (1978)
- Shiksha (1993)
- Samstha (1993)
- Unnati (2003).
SGBS Trust wanted to benefit under privileged families providing them access to opportunities beyond their reach in areas of education, vocational skills and cultural exposure.
While Shiksha and Unnati provides support in education and vocational training, Utsav organizes nationally acknowledged cultural programs each year which is free for public participation. Samstha organizes funeral services and traditional rites for the departed.
Based in Bangalore, SGBS Trust is a registered Public Charitable Trust under Section 12A (a) of the Income Tax Act 1961 vide number Trust/718/10A Vol B II/S.487/CIT-II/93 dated 15.06.93 with PAN AADTS9185M.
All donations towards Unnati project are exempt under Section 35 AC/80GGA of the Income Tax Act which entitles the donor for 100% tax exemption.
Contributions to the other activities of the Trust are eligible for exemption under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.
