I hail from a poor family from Tumkur. My family comprises of my father who is an LIC Agent, mother a housewife and me. My father sent me to Unnati after seeing the newspaper ad and also based on a relative’s recommendation. Basically, I was very naughty and did not have any interest in studies. I had no interest in joining Unnati initially, because I was told that I had to be in Unnati from 8 am to 8 pm . First few days were really difficult for me and I was just not able to adjust to this place. I could not think of spending 70 days in Unnati. But everything turned beautiful once the classes started and as days passed I got more and more interested in attending classes. Everyone in Unnati was living like one family. I slowly started developing interest in the classes. I did not know what life skills was before joining Unnati. This is the centre where I improved my life skills and this was the turning point of my life. The teachers are very friendly and caring. They teach us in such a way that even the dullest student is able to understand and is ready to talk in English. Unnati has really transformed my life. I am very thankful to Unnati. I have learnt and improved in all these areas after joining Unnati.
I. Punctuality
II. Self Confidence
III. Overcoming Stage fear
IV. Spoken English
V. Respect to People
VI. Computer Skills
I was placed at Apple of My I, a Retail Store as a Marketing Executive.
