SGBS Trust conducted a press meet at the Press club Bangalore on 30 August 2014 to announce the upcoming Gokulashtami music festival and to create awareness on its unique initiative Unnati Bangalore. MR.Jayaraman(Trustee), Mr.N.H.Subramanian( Trustee ), Parvathy Madappa ,Aakansha Singhal and Mr.Krishna Kumar were present to address the meet .
The core group of SGBS Trust came together because of its love for bhajans, Carnatic music. When one listens to music that is divine, it is but natural to look beyond oneself to the world at large and find a meaningful strand for oneself in the web of life. This is what happened to us and we started Unnati- a 70-day intense program that identifies, trains and places unemployed youth in reputed firms like TCS, Taj, Titan Eye Wear etc. So far, we have trained over 4000 youth and everyone of them has been placed. As with good music, we want to share this program with more people—to help lift 1 million youth of poverty and despair in 10 years.

The event was a huge success with many journalists showing interest to cover the details discussed in the press meet
